Issues for today that OIT has encountered and our perspective on the resolution of said issues.  Please feel free to share this information.

ISSUE:
Students not being able to click on their courses when they see them (not linked).
RESOLUTION:
Courses turn on based on the start date listed in Banner or when faculty turn the course on.  This issue is resolved for all courses that have started and for courses where faculty have turned them on (a number of courses start Wednesday so they will be available then or whenever the faculty makes them available).

ISSUE:
Some pairing of students with courses did not properly synch when real-time integration went live last week.
RESOLUTION:
Manual re-synch of course and students solves this problem.  Approximately 20 students were impacted and these student issues have all been resolved.  The fix for this takes approximately 1 minute after we are notified should any additional help desk tickets appear.  We will continue to monitor helpdesk tickets

ISSUE:
This is the most significant issue of the day, and was a D2L server failure which negatively impacted National Louis University, and other D2L Higher Education Clients.  D2L outages occurred from approximately 11:30 till 3:00 intermittently.
RESOLUTION
D2L has provided minimal information, but they did reboot the SQL server.  We will monitor them, and have asked for a detailed description of their problem.  Furthermore, we are working on improving D2L’s customer service and response times to issues.
